Luscious pleasure of choice wines
The wine cellar is the oldest part of the guesthouse, and was already part of a defense facility prior to the building of the “Sächser” – as the Meiningen population fondly calls the guesthouse – in 1798.
Over 8,000 bottles are stored in this arch-design cellar. The stocks range from the tasty Thuringia Riesling wine to the larger berries coming from Bordeaux and Burgundy, up to the discoveries of the New World and the best sweet noble wines. Optimal conditions exist for maximum pleasure: The wine cellar has the right temperature, the right light, and the right moisture. If you would like to take wine or champagne home or have some sent to you, just visit our wine sales counter and get some tips from Sommelière Fredigundis Petzold, who will present you the wine card of the restaurant “The Post Stop” with over 285 items for your choice.
